Dr. Courtney N. Dial is a board-certified medical microbiologist. She received her B.S. in biochemistry with a minor in biology from Lewis University in 2017. She then went on to receive an M.S. in infectious disease and immunology from Loyola University Chicago in 2019, where her thesis work focused on Coxsackievirus B3 and its interactions with polyamines. After obtaining her master’s degree, Dr. Dial earned her Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from Loyola University Chicago in 2023. Her dissertation focused on a new biofilm-inducing molecule in the murine bacterium Vibrio fischeri. After completing her doctoral degree, she was accepted into a CPEP fellowship in medical and public health microbiology at the University of North Carolina. She completed her fellowship in 2025 and joined Peoria Tazewell Pathology Group shortly after.
