Dr. Jacob Nielsen received his B.S. degree in chemical engineering in 2019 from Brigham Young University. He then earned his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, also at Brigham Young University, in 2023. While working toward his Ph.D., Dr. Nielsen’s research focused on 3D-printed microfluidics for quick analysis of preterm birth risk and the capturing and detecting of chikungunya virus RNA. After completing his doctorate, Dr. Nielsen completed a fellowship in clinical chemistry at Houston Methodist, which he completed in 2025. Dr. Nielsen joined Peoria Tazewell Pathology Group in 2025.
