Dr. Eric Santos received his B.S. degree in Chemistry in 1996. After working as a forensic chemist for approximately a year, he went on to earn his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies in 2002. He joined a family medicine residency for one year prior to his decision to pursue training in an anatomic and clinical pathology residency program at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE (2003-2007).
After residency, Dr. Santos worked as a solo, independent general pathologist at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley, IL, succeeding his father who had been a pathologist there for 38 years prior. During his time there, he was actively involved for 16 years as lab medical director, head of infectious disease committee, member of the executive board and served as medical staff President for 5 years.
Dr. Santos is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He joined Peoria Tazewell Pathology Group in 2024.
